You’d think I would’ve learned that after saying yes to a mission trip for 11 months.
This is the longest and farthest I’ve ever been away from home and it’s hitting me.
Lately I’ve been thinking on my life prior to saying yes to the race. And how much my focus was on my well-being or my attitude or my room. Seriously I used to think that I was the main character of the story; kinda sad knowing that Jesus died to save all humanity while we were yet enemies to him.
Fast forward to this present moment and now 15 others are the focus and there’s nothing I’d trade for any one them in this season. Getting to share the love of God with them though they test patience and I test theirs has been a true journey.
This year has been nothing short of life changing, at times a little too revealing, humbling, and add just about any other word that means the same as transformational.
I’ve also learned that I’m not as social as I thought. I’ve also learned what works and doesn’t work in the process to discipline my mind and body. God never changes despite my ever changing circumstances and situations. I can rest in knowing that He’s faithful to complete the work he started in me even before I began this journey.
So here’s to the home stretch. May He continually get all praise and honor for the completion of our race.
